Peru & Bolivia trip 2020 Day 12&13 Huanchaco, Peru-

Last day in Peru Day 12&13 Leaving Peru to go back home I surfed in the morning early enough to return the board and pack our stuff. Because this was our last day in Peru and our flight to Lima was around 1pm. The surf was good, small and mushy but ridable. Josh was already up when I came back. He was feeling a lot better that morning and seemed like he was ready to travel back. We packed our stuff and went down stairs to eat our breakfast and pay for the accommodation. I got a fish as usual and Josh got oatmeal without fruits. We still had a…

Peru & Bolivia trip 2020 day11 -Huanchaco, Peru-

food poisoning in Peru Day11 In the middle of the night, I woke up because Josh was not in bed right next to me. He was fighting against food poisoning. I was scared too because we literally ate the same thing. We shared every single plate and it didn’t make sense if I didn’t get the poison and only Josh got it. So I was waiting for it. Fortunately, I didn’t get the food poisoning so we weren’t sure what triggered it. It might be an egg that he got for the breakfast because that was the only thing I didn’t eat. It was 2 in the morning and I…

Peru & Bolivia trip 2020 Day10 -Huanchaco, Peru-

Exploring Huanchaco Day10 We woke up around 6 and went surfing. We figured that people don’t surf in the morning as much here in Huanchaco. Maybe it’s too cold in the morning? I don’t know. I remember that the surf wasn’t that great that morning. It was small. After the morning surf, we came back to the hostel around 8 and took shower. Oh I forgot about this until now but the shower gave us electric shock sometimes when we touched the shower head. There was a heater connected and I think that was dangerous lol well it wasn’t a big deal for us we just had to deal with…

Peru & Bolivia trip 2020 Day 9 -Trujillo, Peru-

The origin of surfing, Huanchaco Day9 This day was started unbelievably. Our room phone ringed middle of the night at 1:30. Front desk called our room. I answered the phone and I remembered my brain was confused and didn’t know how to process. The reason why we got a phone call was our flight was 4:30 in the morning and a shuttle showed up to our hotel and they were waiting for us. WHAT ON THE EARTH WAS HAPPENING. Okay, the front desk actually called us right before we went to bed around 11:30 and told us the air company were going to pick us up at 1:30. But who…

Peru & Bolivia trip 2020 Day8 -La Paz, Bolivia-

Flight was cancelled and had to stay in La Paz for an extra night Day8. This was probably the only day that was not fun. So we got to the airport around 5:30 in the morning, and we had to kill our time until our flight to Cusco at 10am. We were supposed to fly to Cusco, Cusco to Lima, and Lima to Trujillo. We had to catch 3 flights that day. We checked in to Latam airline smoothly, and we even boarded a bit earlier than usual. We just had to fly out. However… the pilot announced that they found a fuel leak and we had to get off…

Peru & Bolivia trip 2020 Day7 -Uyuni, Bolivia-

The best day in Uyuni salt flats Day7 This was THE DAY. The best day/experience In this trip and possibly my life. The weather was better than the day before in the morning so we had a hope for the perfect reflection. Breakfast at Mercado We weren’t hungry but we stopped at Mercado for chicken soup. Seemed like they eat a lot of potatoes. It was pretty good but we couldn’t finish it, the altitude made us kinda full all the time. We got some snacks as well and walked to Hodaka agency at 10am. Unreal world, THE DAY at Uyuni salt flats This morning, we stopped by a little…

Peru & Bolivia trip 2020 Day6 -Cusco, Peru & Uyuni, Bolivia-

Peru to Bolivia for UYUNI salt flat Day6. Exploring Cusco early morning This day was the last day in Cusco and we flew to Bolivia 10:30 in the morning. We wanted to see more stuff in Cusco, so we woke up like 5:30 in the morning and we started to walk around the city by 6am. Peru’s morning starts pretty early since they are close to the equator. It is already bright by 5:30, so we could start our day early. Our google said the San Pedro market opens at 6am, so we headed over there in order to do last souvenir shopping and possibly getting breakfast. However, it didn’t…

Peru & Bolivia trip 2020 Day5 -Humantay Lake, Peru-

Joined a full day tour to Humantay Lake We woke up before 5 in the morning and the tour van picked us up little past 5. It was still dark outside and my legs were still super sore and hurting from Huayna Picchu hike. Affordable for a full day tour We paid 140 soles for two of us for this tour, which includes the 10 soles entrance fee. It took us 2 hours to get to a little restaurant to feed us breakfast and another an hour to get to Humantay Lake. The road was pretty gnarly, too narrow and if you go over the edge even just a bit…

Peru & Bolivia trip 2020 Day4 -Cusco, Peru-

Exploring Cusco -salt mine &Huaypo lake Day4 So nexts few days are going to be about Cusco. We stayed in Cusco for 3 days, and we found ourselves fall in love with this beautiful city. Cusco was my favorite city in this trip, it was just beautiful. Machu Picchu to Cusco We caught a train at 5:30 at Machu Picchu station to go back to Cusco. I don’t know why but unlike the first time, they didn’t serve us anything this time. Also, it takes 2 hours to go back to Ollaytaytambo. It delayed a bit. From Ollaytaytambo, we wanted to go to Urubamba in order to go to Salt…

Peru&Bolivia trip 2019 Day3 -Machu Picchu, Peru-

Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu Day3 We woke up around 5 in the morning because our ticket for Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu was at 7. We bought our ticket online before this trip. There was already a line for a shuttle to Machu Picchu from the town at 5:30. We had to buy a bus shuttle ticket which is $12 one way and $24 round trip, which was quite expensive. Some people were hiking up there and hiking down, but it looked gnarly. I could imagine it takes approximately 1hr to get there and come down. We kind of thought about hiking down after seeing all the Machu Picchu,…
